Qazvin/ the calligraphy capital of Iran/ the city of Ab anbars ( water reservoirs)

Qazvin is one of the largest historical cities of Iran and capital of Qazvin province. The city had been founded by Shapur II, the king of Sasanian Empire. Qazvin has a lot of historical places since it was the capital of Iran during Safavid dynasty ( 577 AD). In terms of having historical monuments, Qazvin has the first rank in Iran and the third rank in the world. Qazvin is the calligraphy capital of Iran and it has many famous calligraphers like Mir Emad Qazvini.

Qazvin also known as the clean city of Iran because there are many vast gardens there. Geographically,from the north the city leads to Lahijan, from the northeast to Razmian,from the east to Bidestan and Mohammadiyeh, from the southeast to Alvand, from the south to Leia, from the west to Mahmudabad Nemuneh,and from the northwest to Manjil. Qazvin has nice weather with mild,cool summers and cold winters. The city is the most important producer of Hazelnut,Pistachio,Cornelian cherry, Grape and Raisin in Iran.

Qazvin has delicious local foods that Gheimeh Nesar and Fesenjan are the most popular of them. The best restaurants of Qazvin are Nemooneh, Shani, Kermani, Traditional Food, and Meditrranean. Mediterranean restaurant of Qazvin belongs to a Labanese person and delicious Labanese food are served there. There are also many fast food restaurants in the city such as: Chili, Mazeh, Hoora, Adysh, Alaedin, Aksaray, Papa Pizza, and Azhdar Zapata.

People of Qazvin are interested in spending time in cafes and there are a lot of cozy cafes with traditional facades in the city that you can go and enjoy your time. For example Negarossaltaneh cafe is a great place where you can try different drinks especially herbal distillates, or Sheed cafe where you can try the best kind of Espresso. Karoma, Adam & Hava, Caren,Vozara, and Rash are other good cafes of the city that have nice environments as well as delicious drinks, coffee and ice cream.

Qazvin is a city of art and it has many artists, so handicrafts like carved wood, stained glass and calligraphy are the main souvenirs of the city. Different kinds of pastry are also the delicious souvenirs of Qazvin that some of the most popular of them are: Rice bread, Chickpea cookie, Candied bread, Walnut bread, Paderazi, Nazak, Charkhi bread, Tea bread, Atabaki, and Baklava that you can buy them from Hamid confectionery. Pomegranate, Walnut, Hazelnut, Pistachio, and Grape are other souvenirs of Qazvin that you can buy them in their own seasons. You can buy all those souvenirs as well as special cheese of the city from Qazvin ‘ Bazaar.Narvan and Ferdosi malls are the modern shopping centers of the city.

Unexpected events and diseases are inevitable during a trip, so you need a piece of information about the health services of the city that you want to travel. There are good,equipped hospitals in Qazvin such as: Velayat, Bu Ali, Pasteur, Kosar, and Shahid Rajae. There are also some good clinics in the city like Razi, Ebne Sina and Poonak. Dr. Nozari, Qanoun and Dr. Gholampoor are the pharmacies of the city.

Qazvin is a city of historical monuments. It should be said that Sepah street which is the first street of Iran is located in Qazvin. The city has many attractive places to visit such as: Barajin national park which is the largest forest park in Iran, Alamut Castle thst is one of the unique castles of Iran, Chehel Sotoun edifice (pavilion) which is a complex of royal palaces related to Shah Tahmasp, the king of Safavid dynasty, Caravanserai of Sa’d-al-Saltaneh that is the largest covered caravanserai in the world, Sardar water reservoir which is the largest single dome water reservoir in the world, Kantur Church that is the smallest church of Iran, Zagheh hill, Ovan lake, Qajar bath and museum, Chehel Sotoun museum, Hosseiniyeh Aminiha, Bloody tree of Zarabad, Kharraqan towers, Tehran-e Ghadim and Darb-e Koushak that were the gates of the city.
