🗺 Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Astara – The Forest Border

  • Arrive via Rasht or Ardabil airport, then transfer to Astara.

  • Visit Heyran Pass and Latoun Waterfall, the tallest waterfall in Iran.

  • Walk through Gisum Forest, where trees reach down to the Caspian shore.

  • Overnight in a Talysh village near the forest line.


Day 2: Astara → Talesh – Forest & Pasture Life

  • Drive along the Talesh Mountains, passing rice fields and rivers.

  • Visit Talesh Museum and summer pastures of nomadic herders.

  • Hike among misty forests and stay overnight in a village near Subatan (seasonal) or downtown Talesh.


Day 3: Talesh → Masal – Cloud Forests

  • Head to Masal, one of the most magical cloud-jungle destinations in Iran.

  • Explore Olasbelangah and Shir Mard Forest, with panoramic hilltop views over thick jungle layers.

  • Experience homemade mountain food, fresh herbs, and friendly hosts.

  • Overnight in a wooden hut or eco-cabin.


Day 4: Masal → Fuman → Lahijan

  • Continue south to Fuman, home of the famous Koloocheh (filled pastry).

  • Visit Rudkhan Castle, a massive fortress hidden deep in the jungle, accessible via a forest stair trail.

  • Afternoon in Lahijan tea fields: walk the hills, sip tea at the Tea Museum, and enjoy lakeside views.

  • Overnight stay in Lahijan.


Day 5: Lahijan → Ramsar – Coastline Meets Jungle

  • Drive along the Caspian Highway through dense foliage.

  • Visit Dalkhani Forest and Namak Abrud for optional cable car rides into the green hills.

  • Arrive in Ramsar, known for its blend of sea, forest, and historical charm.

  • Overnight near the forest or coastline.


Day 6: Ramsar → Gorgan – Eastern Jungle Route

  • Take the highway east, entering Mazandaran’s eastern jungles.

  • Stop in Chalus, Noor, or Behshahr for local food and short forest walks.

  • Reach Gorgan by evening.

  • Walk through Nahar Khoran Forest Park, a lush jungle at the edge of the city.

  • Overnight in boutique lodge or forest guesthouse.


Day 7: Gorgan & Departure

  • Visit Ziarat Village or explore Alangdareh Forest, known for its fall foliage.

  • Tour ends with transfer to Gorgan Airport or return drive to Tehran.
