This itinerary offers an enriching exploration of Iran’s national parks, from the forests of Golestan and Arasbaran to the deserts of Kavir and Lut, providing a perfect balance of nature, wildlife, and stunning landscapes.

Day 1: Arrival in Tehran

  • Arrive in Tehran, the vibrant capital of Iran. Transfer to your hotel for a restful evening.

Day 2: Tehran to Hyrcanian Forests (Golestan National Park)

  • Start your adventure with a trip to Golestan National Park, located in the northern part of Iran near the Caspian Sea.

  • Explore this UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve, one of the oldest and most biologically diverse parks in the region.

  • Discover the lush, temperate Hyrcanian forests, home to a variety of flora and fauna, including Persian leopards, brown bears, and wild boars.

  • Hike along trails surrounded by dense green forests, rivers, and waterfalls.

Day 3: Golestan to Arasbaran Wildlife Refuge

  • Head to Arasbaran Wildlife Refuge, a remote and pristine region located in the northeast of Iran, near the border with Azerbaijan.

  • Explore the Aras River, rugged mountain terrains, and rare flora and fauna. The park is a sanctuary for endangered species such as the Persian wild goat, brown bears, and eagles.

Day 4: Arasbaran to Kavir Desert (Kavir National Park)

Day 5: Kavir Desert to Zagros Mountains (Biosphere Reserve of Koohrang)

  • Travel towards the Zagros Mountain Range, stopping at the Koohrang Biosphere Reserve.

  • The park is known for its dramatic landscapes, towering cliffs, and high-altitude valleys. Hike the scenic trails, enjoy the stunning panoramic views, and spot wildlife such as Persian leopards, wild sheep, and wild boar.

  • Visit the Choghakhor Wetlands, an important stop for migratory birds, and enjoy a peaceful day amidst the wetlands.

Day 6: Zagros Mountains to Dasht-e Lut (Lut Desert National Park)

  • Continue to Dasht-e Lut, one of the most striking desert landscapes in Iran, and home to Lut Desert National Park.

  • Explore the Gandom Beryan Plateau, known for being one of the hottest places on Earth. Wander through salt deserts and discover the park’s unique geological formations like the Yardang formations.

  • Visit Kerman, where you can learn about the desert cultures and wildlife that thrive in this challenging environment.

Day 7: Return to Tehran

  • Travel back to Tehran for the final day of your tour. Visit local attractions such as the Golestan Palace, Tehran Grand Bazaar, or Tajrish Bazaar for souvenirs.

  • Departure in the evening or an extended stay in Tehran before heading to your next destination.
