Manjil/Mangil/The city of wind turbines 

Manjil is one of the Gilan Province’s cities located in Rudbar county, near the river “ Sefidrud”. Manjil is known as the trade center of Rudbar county. Manjil is also known as the windy city of Iran since it is located in a place where semi-dry climate and humid climate of the Caspian sea meet. Since in Manjil the wind power is converted into electrical energy by wind turbines, it is known as the city of wind turbines. 

Where to stay in Manjil?

Unfortunately there is no hotel in Manjil. If you want to stay at hotel, you should go to the cities in vicinity of Manjil like Rasht and Rudbar.

What to eat? Where to eat?

The most popular food of Manjil is Shami Rudbari which is a local food of Rudbar county. Gilan’s foods like Baghela ghatogh, Khoresh-e Torsh-e Tare, Mirzaghassemi,and Vavishka are also very popular in Manjil. Thare are good restaurants in the city that you can go and try those delicious foods, for example: Sarcheshmeh, Shater Abbas, and Haleem Darim Ta Haleem.

What do we buy from Manjil?

Different kinds of olive, olive oil, cookie, garlic tursu, pomegranate sauce as well as felt, woolen things and olive soap are the most popular souvenirs of Manjil that you can buy them from the shopping centers of the city.

There is only one hospital in Manjil which name is “ 31 Khordad”.

Manjil has attractive places to visit such as: Sefidrud Dam which is one of the most beautiful dams of Iran, Sefidrud river that is Iran’s second longest river, Manjil’s wind turbines that are the symbols of the city, Kalashtar spring, Cheshmeh Bad cave, and Park-e Shahr ( City park of Manjil).
