In general, Iran is much safer than many from the West might believe. Most people are genuinely friendly and interested to know about you and your country, so leave aside your preconceptions and come with an open mind.
Iran is still a relatively low-crime country, although thefts and muggings have been on the increase in recent years. Keep your wits about you, and take the usual precautions against pickpockets in crowded bazaars and buses.
Try not to travel in the southeastern area of Iran, meaning the provinces of Sistan and Baluchistan, and also to some degree Southern Khorasan province. However, Chahbahar which is close to the Pakistani border is a very calm and friendly city.
Ignore the media hype, your chances of facing anti-Western sentiment as a traveler are none. Even hardline Iranians make a clear distinction between the Western governments they distrust and individual travelers who visit their country.
There are a lot of military and other sensitive facilities in Iran. Photography near military and other government installations is strictly prohibited. Do not photograph any military object, jails, harbors, telecommunication devices, airports or other objects and facilities which you suspect are military in nature.
Iran is very safe and people will be prepared to help you with any difficulty – it would be a matter of national pride.
The water is clean and the food is safe.
Iran Travel Restrictions:
1. The tourists must be fully vaccinated(2 doses) to travel to Iran and present the vaccine card when entering.
Important Note: at least two weeks must have passed since the last vaccine dose.
2. Fully vaccinated tourists need to present also a negative PCR test conducted within 96 hours to enter Iran.
Is Iran safe now?
Iran is as safe as Turkey when it comes to security, according to a new interactive map showing the risk level around the world.
The Travel Risk Map, launched by global risk experts International SOS in collaboration with Control Risks, shows the danger level in each country and territory based on the current threat posed to travelers by political violence (including terrorism, insurgency, politically motivated unrest, and war), social unrest (including sectarian, communal and ethnic violence) and violent and petty crime.

https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/travel-risk-map-2019-worlds-safest-dangerous-countries-to-visit-iran-uk-slovenia-denmark-a8644646.html
Visiting Iran is financially affordable for most people around the world because of the value of the Iranian currency. But the question of safety in Iran has always been on the minds of tourists.
Due to the global political issues and negative media propaganda against Iran, there are many negative perspectives about Iran all over the world and many tourists forget the fact that all these arguments are between governments and not the people.
The 2019 Global Finance ranking has introduced the safest countries in the world by updating natural disaster rates, wars, and crime in countries. The ranking, which does not include Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, has identified the Philippines as the most insecure country in the world and has put Yemen at the forefront. Although Yemen is engaged in a devastating war and the Philippines is at peace, it has gained more points because of natural disasters in the Philippines than in Yemen.
Interestingly, in the rankings, the three Gulf States are in the top 30. Qatar ranks 7th, UAE 21st, and Oman 20th most secure in the world in terms of global finance.
Emergencies
Emergency services are extensive in Iran, and response times are very good compared to other local regions, 110 is the telephone number of the local Police control center, it is probably easiest to phone the local police as they are in direct contact with other emergency services, and will probably be the only number with English speaking operators.
Other Emergency Services are also available via 115 for Ambulances and 125 for the Fire and Rescue team (these numbers are frequently answered by the Ambulance or Fire crew, there is little guarantee these men or women would speak English). The international number 112 is available from cell phones, and will usually connect you to the Police. Iran has also "Iran Assistance" an insurance company specializing in international medical evacuation.
Stay healthy
Medical Facilities
Iran has state-of-the-art medical facilities in all its major cities. Apart from being up to date with your usual travel vaccinations, no special preparation is needed for travel to Iran.
Water
Tap water is safe to drink in most of the country (and especially the cities), although you may find the chalkiness and taste a bit off-putting in some areas (mainly Qom, Yazd, Hormozgan, and Boushehr provinces). Bottled mineral water (āb Madani) is widely available. Also, on many streets and sites, public water fridges are installed to provide drinking water.
Respect
In general, Iranians are warm, friendly, and generous individuals with a strong interest in foreigners and other cultures. In dealing with Iranians.
In terms of geographical location, Iran is located in the southwest of Asia and in the Middle East region, and is the eighteenth of the world in terms of size. Diffrent Iran maps are located at the top of the page for you to use for your travel to Iran.

What to See and Do in Iran
Iran offers more diversity than many travelers expect. Within one country, you can find snow-capped mountains, deserts with shifting sands, ancient ruins, lush forests, and lively modern cities. What you choose to see and do depends on how you like to travel — cultural, historical, natural, or a mix of everything.
Cultural and Historical Highlights
Iran’s long history has left behind countless monuments and UNESCO World Heritage sites. You can walk among the grand columns of Persepolis, the former capital of the Achaemenid Empire; admire the turquoise domes and mosaics of Isfahan’s Naqsh-e Jahan Square; and explore Yazd, one of the oldest desert cities in the world with its narrow lanes and windcatchers. In Shiraz, the city of poets, visit Hafez and Saadi’s tombs, Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, and the lively Vakil Bazaar.
Local Life and Traditions
Beyond the monuments, Iran’s culture shows itself in daily life. Visit bazaars filled with spices, carpets, and handicrafts. Spend time in traditional teahouses, learn how to cook Persian dishes, or join locals during seasonal celebrations such as Nowruz (New Year). You can also visit artisan workshops — from miniature painting and calligraphy to pottery and handwoven carpets — and see how ancient skills are still alive.
Nature and Outdoor Experiences
Iran’s landscapes range from the green slopes of the Alborz Mountains and the Caspian Sea coast to the wide Dasht-e Kavir and Lut Deserts. Travelers can hike in mountain villages like Abyaneh or Masuleh, go off-road in the desert around Kerman or Matin Abad, or relax by the Persian Gulf in Kish and Qeshm Islands, known for their coral beaches and unique geological formations.
Religious and Spiritual Sites
Iran is home to many important Islamic landmarks and shrines. In Mashhad, pilgrims visit the Imam Reza Shrine, while Qom is another major center of learning and spirituality. Even for non-religious travelers, these sites are places of deep cultural meaning and architectural beauty.
Modern Cities and Contemporary Life
Tehran, the capital, combines museums, galleries, and cafes with a backdrop of mountains. It’s the best place to understand Iran’s modern rhythm — young artists, local fashion, and urban life coexisting with deep-rooted traditions.
Every region of Iran offers something distinct, and each journey can be shaped around personal interests — whether photography, architecture, nomadic life, food, or religion. With tailor-made tours, travelers can combine famous highlights with lesser-known destinations, discovering both the history and the everyday life that make Iran one of the most rewarding countries to explore.

About Us
Let's Go Iran Tour Operator is fast becoming known as one of, if not the most innovative, pro-active retail travel companies in the country and a major supplier of discounted airfares to the public. Whether we’re dealing with a travel or cargo agency, an airline principal, or the leisure traveler, the emphasis is constantly placed on innovation, quality products, and service excellence.
At Let's Go Iran we live and breathe travel. We are passionate about the Industry. We continually strive to put together discounted hotels and tour fares and find ''hidden fares'' that lurk in the deepest corners of the hotels and tours' darkest closets. The funny thing is that many agents could sell the same deals if they had the know-how or had taken the time to search through the mass of daily updates that arrive.
Who we are:
Our holding as one of the most innovative, pro-active retail travel companies in the country works in the fields of incoming, outgoing, education, ticketing, and a major supplier of discounted domestic airfares in three branches.
Main office:
We are one of the best and well-known agencies in Iran, both in the incoming and outgoing department with 25 members of staff. It is a complete destination management company. As one of the most experienced travel agents in Iran, our team provides a complete travel package for leisure, business, group, educational purpose, or corporate. Also, we are always so flexible to our client’s needs and requests and our professional agents are always available to serve you.
What we do:
Let’s Go Iran believes everything always should be done a bit differently.
As knowledge base business is our priority, our Destination Research Team holds seasonally some trips to unique and remote attractions that are not being visited or known by even Iranians themselves. This way, on one hand, we make sure that these destinations are accessible and interesting and on the other hand our clients can see the best-unseen sights in Iran.
And also, as we said at the beginning of this article, one of our branches in Shiraz, which is the center in Tourism in Iran, trains students in tourism including guiding, and hotel industry. That is why we have the best guides in Iran and work with the best hotels in our country. Most of Iranian agencies and hotels use our trained guides and hoteliers, so you could be sure about the designed packages by our company.
What we believe:
Honesty, Sympathy, thinking positive and creativity
Our community– from our team to our aims – is founded on this set of values.
Iran as a country with astonishing historical sites, a dramatic and diverse culture, and magnificent landscapes could be one of the charm destinations in the world that have more than what tourists want to experience during their trip. Iranians are warm, friendly and generous individuals with a strong interest in foreigners and other cultures, but the foreign political pressure on Iran during these years, and also the tensions which have been with all Iranians always cause all these potentials to not be visible for those who would like to trip to Iran.
The main goal of our team in Let’s Go Iran is to show the real face of Iran to the people around the world, not the fact that the International Media want to induce.

Our team in Let’s Go Iran is always on the lookout for those who think and want differently.

1. Could you please tell me if there is any limitation to travel to Iran as an unmarried couple?
There is no limitation for unmarried couples to travel to Iran. They can stay at the hotel in the same room without any problem because the hotels won’t ask about your relationship
2. What to wear in Iran? Please tell me more details about the dress code of Iran. Do I cover my hair when I come to Iran?
Obeying Islamic rules including Hijab or Islamic dress-code is necessary in Iran. However, these rules are not observed very strictly, especially for tourists and foreigners. You must not worry about maintaining your hijab since in times you have forgotten about it, the maximum penalty will be a request (usually in a kind way) to make it correct.
There are some minimum requirements for foreign women dress-code in public places but generally the law is loose when it comes to tourists. Iranian are hospitable people.
1. Color : It's a completely false belief that wearing must be dark in Iran. There is no limitation in this respect and we recommend you make sure using light colors in summer.
2. Head : Hair should be covered. It does not mean you shall have a tight scarf around your head. Don't worry, It is very usual that some parts remain out of the cover. It's quite acceptable for women to allow whips of their hair to frame their faces. Appropriate hats & caps can do this function as well as scarves. Scarf is the most common covering for the head and is called "Roosari" in Farsi.
3. Body : Should be covered with loose clothes like man shirt, coat or manteau. Arms should not be bare.
4. Legs & feet : Legs should be covered down to ankles. Feet can be bare and you can wear sandals. Tight jeans are no problem.
Tip 1 : In summer and hot weather, you can cheat(!) and not wear a shirt under your coat/ Manteau. Who understands?!
Tip 2 : In wintertime, apart from covering the head, the rest is the same as what you wear in your home country.
Tip 3 : You better enter Iran with a coat and a scarf and select your style b/y watching the Iranian women in the streets.
Tip 4 : Once a chador is needed, like in holy places, it will be given upon entrance.
Tip 5 : Following the dress-code is necessary to form the time of on-boarding international flights. On Iranian Flights, it is usually requested when the plane enters the Iranian boundaries.
3. Is it possible to use the credit card in Iran?
No. It is not possible. Because of the sanction against Iranian banks, you are not able to use credit card in Iran so you need to bring cash with you.
4. How about drinking alcohol? Is there any limitation about this?
In Iran, according to the rule, you are not able to drink alcohol or buy it from the shops.
5. Could you please explain more about the best time to visit Iran?
March, April and May are in the peak season of the year. Persian New Year starts on March 21st, or 22nd based on the leap year. There are many travelers not just from Iran but also from all over the world who are eager to see Persian ceremonies and the like.
For those who like to have more relaxing time and to stay in cozy places, we do not suggest this time, especially at the beginning of the new year. Those who would prefer to see more people and crowded places, this is the best time in the year.
BUT those who seek for a more affordable fee, quiet sights, more relaxing time and less hustle and bustle visits, we do recommend June, July and August.
6. Is it safe to travel to Iran now?
The foreign political pressure on Iran during these years, and also the tensions have been with all Iranians always but now it is more visible for you as you are coming to Iran and you are more curious about the place you are going to visit. We wake up with new threads every day and till now none of them has happened, but to make you feel more comfortable, we have many clients from different countries who left Iran in some days ago and they would like to help you with your questions and concerns regarding your trip to/in Iran. So please do not hesitate to let me know in case you need their email or telephone address, this way you are able to ask them how real Iran is.
Please remember that we are responsible for you and we will undoubtedly let you know in case there is any danger for you.
7. Is there Internet access in Iran?
All the hotels, restaurants, and cafes+ in Iran have WIFI so you can access the Internet when you are at your hotel in all cities. Additionally, Let’s go Iran will give you an Iranian sim-card to you with a limited date. This way, you will have Internet access in the streets during your tour. If your data will finish, you can ask your guide to help you to recharge it.
Please keep in mind a point regarding the social Apps (Media) in Iran: You can use What's app, Linkedin, and Instagram in Iran easily and without any restrictions. BUT Facebook, Telegram, and Twitter are blocked in Iran.
8. What are the extra costs you need to pay during your trip to Iran?
Entrance fee is approximately between 5 to 7 US$ per person for each site. Some sites are less expensive and some sites are more expensive.
Food
A very good traditional meal in a good restaurant is almost 15 US$ per person,
Currency
You are able to bring your money in Euro or Dollars and exchange your money in the reliable exchange offices in main cities, and at the airports.
Tips
Please notice that it is not necessary to pay tips to the persons who meet during your trip in Iran, but if you are interested to pay tips to them, you can pay 10 US$ per day
9. What can I buy as a souvenir in Iran? Can I buy souvenirs like Persian rugs in Iran?
Because of the rich culture of Iran, you can find various handicrafts there. You will have many options to choose as a souvenir in each city in Iran such as Iranian rugs, saffron, pistachios, carpets, and handmade crafts.
Regarding the buying carpet, we have a professional carpet expert in Shiraz, a professor who can help you to buy a nice rug with good quality.
