This museum has the architectural style of Persian architecture with an entrance that is similar to the Sasanian Era designs and it has red bricks, similar to the French architecture.

This museum consists of two separate buildings, one is the Museum of Ancient Iran and the Museum of Islamic Era.

Iran's national museum contains a collection of valuable historical remnants of Iran, located in Tehran. This museum consists of two separate buildings, one is the Museum of Ancient Iran, inaugurated in 1937 and the other is the Museum of the Islamic Era, inaugurated in 1972.

The National Museum of Iran is the most important museum regarding the preservation and exhibition of the Iranian archaeological collections. The number and the diversity of the objects available at the museum are as vast as the geographic measure of the country and as many as the revolutions that human beings have lived through on this land and as many as the number of the remnants that they have left behind.

Currently, the National Museum of Iran displays the remnants that show the richness of the culture, civilization, art, economic growth, and technological achievements of Iranians.

This 60-year-old museum is not only the biggest museum of archeology and history of Iran but also it is noted as one of the largest museums in the world regarding the volume, diversity, and quality of the objects on display. The national museum of Iran is known as the mother of all the museums in Iran. At the moment Dr. Jebrael Nokandeh is the museum's general manager.

The Museum of Ancient Iran contains a set of rich archaeological remnants. The oldest object is linked to the Paleolithic period (about 12000 to one million years ago) and the most recent object is linked to the Sassanid period (more than 1500 years old). There are unique objects exhibited in this hall.
