Darakeh
Darakeh is a mountainous area located in the North-West of Tehran and is a great path for hiking in Tehran. This area got its name from a kind of shoe called Dargeh, worn in the snow to making walking in the snow easier.
There is a river in this area which makes the environment cooler during the summer. Darakeh dates back to the 5th century. There are many gravestones, old ovens, stoned mortars, a shrine, and spring of water in the North side of Darakeh. There are also three mosques in this area, seven ponds, Kara jungle and waterfall, Band-Abdollah waterfall, Jozak waterfall, white water and frothed water.
Darakeh is about 1700 meters higher than sea level. People of Darakeh have jobs such as extraction of green stones from the Darakeh mine, running a mill, training sheep, gardening and aviculture.
