Bibi Shahr Banu Shrine
Bibi Shahr Banu is the name of a shrine in Ray City (Shahr-e Ray). According to the available inscriptions and the belief of people, Shahr Banu is the wife of the third Imam of Shiite, Imam Hussein, and the mother of the fourth Imam of Shiite, Imam Sajjad.
Experts believe that this shrine belongs to the Zoroastrians and dates back to the pre-Islamic time due to the evidence such as being located on top of a mountain, near a spring, being made of stone, permission of entrance by women only during specific times, having "Banu" (woman) in the name of this shrine, and the similarity of the story of Bibi Shahr Banu to the myth of Banu Pars in yazd who has a Zoroastrian shrine in Yazd City
