Lahijan/ the city of Tea and Silk/ the bride of Gilan/ the city of Cookies/ the city of four-season bushes/ the green gem of Iran 

Lahijan is one of the great cities of Gilan province with a lot of tourist attractions located in the north of Deylamann city. Geographically, from the north Lahijan leads to the Caspian sea, from the east it leads to Langarud, from the south to Deylaman , from the southwest to Siahkal and from the west to Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh. Lahijan is located in the foothills and it has warm, humid summers. In winter at first, the winds are hot and violent in the region and then snow falls. The city is covered by the bushesh of tea and the smell of orange blossoms that attract any tourist. This 800-year-old city has many natural attractions. In the past the city was known for its silk rather than tea and cookies since it is located on the Silk road. The name of the city which means “ city of silk” was chosen due to its location. 

Where to stay in Lahijan?

In Lahijan you can stay at hotel, villa and apartment hotel. Since most of the tourists prefer to stay at villas and apartment hotels, there are not many hotels in the city. But if you want to stay at hotel, Fajr and Jahangardi hotels can be good choices for you. Tatilat and Arash are the good apartment hotels of Lahijan.

Local foods of the northern regions of Iran are very popular. Lahijam also has very delicious local food like: Torshe Kabab, Mahi Shekampor, Torshe Shami, Kal Kabab, Mirzaghassemi, Baghalighatoq, Burani Bademjan, Sir Torshi, and Zeytoon Parvardeh. You can try those foods at good restaurants of the city such as: Dae Mohamad, Vahid, Khansalar,Simorgh,and Mahtab. Since Lahijan is a tourist city it also has many fast food restaurants, for example: Khorak Kabir, Pedare khoob, 20tik and Boof.

Beverages (Soft Drinks)

Tea is the most popular beverage of Lahijan. If you like to drink tea or something else, we recommend you to go to the cates that are located near Lahijan Lake to enjoy both the taste of Lahijan ‘s tea and the great landscape of Satan ‘s Hill. Cookie To cafe pastry, Naderi, Donut Chocolate and Toranj cafes can be good choices for you.

What do we buy from Lahijan?

Attractions and natural places of Lahijan don’t let the tourists to think about shopping, and it is interesting to know that there are not many shopping centers in the city. But if you like shopping, you can go Shishegaran street of Lahijan where many malls are. You can also buy delicious souvenirs of the city like olive, fish, and local eggs from the traditional Bazaar of Lahijan. In order to buy cookie which is the most popular souvenir of the city, you can go Lahijan Lake and buy the best kind of it from Noosheen and Naderi shops.
