Kerman, city of six gates

Kerman is one of the mega cities of Iran and the capital city of Kerman Province that is located in the southeast of the country. The city was the capital of Iran in Zand time and nowadays it is the industrial, political, cultural and scientific center in the southeast of the country. Geographically, Kerman is located among Yazd, South Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan and Fars provinces. Since the city is located in desert region, it has very cold nights and almost warm days.

In general, the city has very warm Summer and moderate Winter. As Kerman has many historical attractions, it is considered among the five historical cities of Iran. Unfortunately Kerman had experienced a bad memory by Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar who ordered to blind the people of the city after that he conquered it.

Caraway and Carpet are the most popular souvenirs of Kerman. Actually Kerman has various souvenirs for example delicious foods like Pistachio, Qavut, Komaj Sehen, Samanu, and Kolompeh. Kerman also has great handicrafts such as Blanket, carpet, Kilim, Shirikipich, and different kinds of copper dishes that you can buy them from Kerman ‘s Bazaar. Setare mall is a modern shopping center of Kerman that you can go and buy whatever you want.

The city has a lot of tourist and historical places that we introduce the most important of them to you: Anahita Fire Temple ( Dokhtar Castle) which is the oldest monument of Kerman, Kerman ‘s Bazaar that is popular in the world and known as the longest Bazaar of Iran, Vakil Caravanserai which is one of the largest caravanserais in the world, Zoroastrian Anthropology museum, that is the only Zoroastrian museum in Iran, Biglarbeygi garden which was the pattern for the construction of Shazdeh garden, Gonbad-e Jabaliyh, it is believed that in the construction of the Gonbad Camel milk was used instead of water, Sakhti valley that is one of the most unique valleys of Iran, Ganjali khan Bath, 200-year- old Malek mosque, and Moaiiedi icebox.
