The architecture of Azadi Tower is derived from the ancient architecture of Iran during the Achaemenid, Sasanian and Islamic periods. In the lower part of this tower, several halls have been built in which a gallery, library and museum have been built. A competition was held for the construction of this building in 1345, and Hossein Amanat, a twenty-four-year-old architect who had just graduated from Tehran University of Fine Arts, won first place and his design was built. This building is built on three floors and has four elevators, two staircases and 286 steps.

It is said that 46 thousand pieces of stone were cut, polished and used in the construction of Azadi Tower. There are interesting logarithmic relations in the geometry and dimensions of the dome of Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, which shows the deep mathematical knowledge of Iranian architects in the past periods.
