Bandar Abbas/ Bandar Gambrun/ the city of Iranian launch

Bandar Abbas is a port city and capital of Hormozgan province. Since Bandar Abbas is the largest and oldest port of Iran, many people choose it for traveling. Bandar Abbas is also an important trade city of Iran. Geographically, from the north the city leads to Hajiabad, from the east it leads to Minab and Rudan, from the west to Bandar Khamil and Bandar Lengeh, and from the south to the Persian Gulf and Qeshm island. Bandar Abbas like other southern ports of Iran has warm and humid climate. In general, from October until April the city has pleasant weather, in May and June it has dry weather and from July until September the weather of the city is humid.

Bandar Abbas is known as the city of seafood. The most popular local food of the city is Havari that made with fish and shrimp. Bandar Abbas has other local food such as: Mahyawa, Ankas( Squid fish), Qalieh Mahi, Qalieh Meygu, Black Pomfret, and Kalmuk. You can try the delicious local food in traditional restaurants of the city like Setareh Jonoob and Setareh Shahr.

Since Bandar Abbas is a port city, fish is the most popular souvenir of it. Handicrafts that are made of Mollusks like decorative things, jewellery, picture frame are other popular souvenirs of the city. Bandar Abbas has other handicrafts such as: Pottery, Chador-e Shab bafi, Golabatun duzi, Baduleh duzi, Shak duzi and Shirikipich. You can buy those souvenirs from the city’s Bazaars like Bandar Abbas traditional fish Bazaar. If you like modern shopping centers, you can go City Center, Setareh Shahr and Setareh Jonoob malls.

Bandar Abbas is a beautiful city located at the beach of the Persian Gulf with a lot of attractions such as: Hindu Temple in Imam Khomeini street, Suru ancient quarter where gold, silver and copper coins related to Sassanid era were discovered, Damash( Siahu) valley, Kolah Farangi Edifice, Gonbad-e Sorkh Historical Castle, Jiri Polak House, Latydan Bridge, and Anthropology Museum.
