Si-o-Seh Pol (Thirty-three Bridges)
5 1 1 1 1 1 Rating 5.00

When Isfahan was elected as the capital of Safavid Empire, the city expanded through the South. The important urbanism area of that time was Chaharbagh (Four Gardens) Street which started from Dowlat Gate toward the South and was about six kilometers long.

This street passes a river and thus they have constructed Allahverdi Khan Bridge over the river which is also known as Si-o-Seh Pol. The construction of this bridge started in 1008 and ended in 1011 AH, it is 300 meters long and 14 meters wide.

The architecture of this bridge is very beautiful and unique. The arrangement of the openings in this bridge and its grandeur are very eye catching. On the upper side of the bridge, there are two cloisters built for the comfort of the pedestrians during the summers and winters. This bridge is a mix of engineering methods together with architectural arts.
